Operation Honor, a Salute to Veterans

The City of Waukesha Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department (WPRF) announces Operation Honor, a Salute to Veterans, that will take place on Saturday, Nov. 10 at Waukesha North High School and Lowell Park in Waukesha.Operation Honor will begin with a formal recognition of our military men and women and be followed with a special performance by Navy Band Great Lakes “Horizon” featuring Navy men and women performers. The evening will end with a patriotic Fireworks Salute at Lowell Park.
“We want to provide a greater opportunity for the community to pay tribute to the many men and women who have served and continue to serve our country,” said City of Waukesha Parks, Recreation & Forestry Director Ron Grall. “Operation Honor will be an event to applaud and thank our Veterans.”
“This is a great opportunity to observe Veteran’s Day and the 237th birthday of the United States Marine Corps,” said Tom Ludka, Veteran Service Officer, Waukesha County.
Operation Honor will take place at the Waukesha North High School Field House, 2222 Michigan Ave. and begin with a formal program recognizing the Veterans at 4:30 p.m. From 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., Navy Band Great Lakes “Horizon” Popular Music Group will take the stage and entertain the audience with Top 40 hits, Classic Rock, Motown, Country & Jazz tunes. The fieldhouse will open at 3:30 p.m. and seating is limited to the first 2,800 people attending.
Concessions provided by the Waukesha North Booster Club will also be available. The evening will end with a patriotic fireworks tribute at Lowell Park, 2201 Michigan Ave. at 6:30 p.m.
